Written Thursday – Posted Friday… It’s the ugliest of the ugly in an online WAHM’s world – 2+ years of online work, and finally the lack of finances has caught up with us.

As I write this our phone is “being checked for trouble”. The trouble is probably that we haven’t been able to pay our phone bill, and won’t be able to unless I want to drain the an account and pay that fee to pay the reconnection fee, plus the astronomical bill all due to the dang phone company and my dial-up service! There was a area code change in my area (no mine didn’t change) but all of a sudden you HAVE to dial the 1+area code even if you’re calling your own area code! Well, my dial-up software would not do it! So being the online business owner that I am, I had to go to the next area code! Ummm…toll-call! (yes I have to take partial responsibility for this).

Last month it was the furnace! And that would money have put a lot under the tree – or could have gone towards the other bills. Just when we think we’re about to at least break even! And so here I am, thinking of the offline things to do and trying to decide what my next move will be. Hey I could just leave the phone off for a day, seems I’ve got some number crunching to do anyway.

I’ll come out of this with lists! Seems I’m good at that – or used to be! Planned to take some time away from the internet anyway this weekend and over Christmas. I’ll think of this as an early break – and be right back at it as soon as I can get the phone back. It can only go up from here, cause there is nowhere else TO go!

Friday…and lists is what I did and some VA work that was on my list. Don’t know how many times I went to get online, or how many times I checked to see if the phone had miraculously been turned back on thinking “well, maybe there was really some trouble with the line.” LOL!  Broke down – paid it – now I’m up and running!
